The word "best" has been used time and again by publications from across the nation to describe grand Lake Texoma. The Dallas Morning
News named Lake Texoma the "best lake vacation destination in Texas."
Dallas's highly respected "D" Magazine named it the site of the "Best Event
on Water."
In 1944 Lake Texoma was formed when the 3 mile long Denison Dam was completed. The mammoth Lake Texoma covers 89,000 scenic acres.
Sprawling in serpentine form across the Texas/Oklahoma border, the huge
reservoir is surrounded by rugged cliffs and thriving marinas. It is one of
America's premier aquatic playgrounds.
Located 75 miles north of Dallas and 121 miles south of Oklahoma City,
Lake Texoma annually draws approximately ten million visitors pursuing
all forms of recreation. This scenic setting is a mecca for those seeking outdoor recreation of every type, including fishing, boaters, water-skiers, campers, hikers and bird watchers.
